Mime in Studio

Mime inside Roblox Studio. Write some of a game's ModuleScripts in ShotScript and leave the rest as they are, so a game you already have can move over one module at a time.

In development, not released yet.

The plugin edits only the modules you write in ShotScript. Everything else in the place stays Studio's. It comes in two parts, the Script Editor and the Explorer, and both run in the same plugin.

Script editor

A Studio pane for writing ShotScript. It draws Mime's own Script window live inside Studio, so you get the editor you know from Mime: syntax colours, errors, completion, folds, find, rename and signature help.

New

  • The Script Editor pane, docked like any Studio widget. Keys and the mouse go straight into the editor.

Up and coming

  • Mime's Script window inside the pane, with Mime's next build.
  • Open a ShotScript module from the place you have open.
  • Save compiles the module to Luau and writes it back to the place as one undo step.
  • A module someone changed by hand in Luau is never overwritten without a word: the editor tells you.
  • Compile errors shown on the lines that cause them.
  • A small status chip: "Saved 2s ago", "3 errors", "Hand-edited, not saved".

Explorer

It looks like Studio's own Explorer, except that ShotScript modules show in a colour of their own.

Up and coming

  • ShotScript modules in their own colour.
  • Click a module to open it in the Script Editor.
  • A module with errors or hand edits is marked in the tree.
