CookNoteTrack
Write music right on the timeline. Draw notes in a piano roll or drop in a MIDI file, and a VST3 instrument plays them in time with your picture.
A CookNoteTrack holds notes for an instrument, each with a start, a length, a pitch (60 is C4) and a velocity. Instrument is the node that plays them, an AudioEffect whose Kind is a VST3 instrument; any number of clips can play one. Double-click the clip to edit its notes in the piano roll, or drop a .mid file on the Cook window for one clip per MIDI track. Playback and renders send the same notes at the same samples.
Properties
| Name | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Instrument | AudioEffect | The instrument node that plays the notes; any number of clips can play one instrument. | |
| Notes | {{Start: number, Length: number, Pitch: number, Velocity: number}} | The notes, each a start and length in seconds of the clip's own time, a MIDI pitch (60 = C4) and a velocity. | |
| Offset | number | 0 0 to 1e+06 | The clip's own second at its In, so trimming the left edge keeps the notes in place. |
| Tempo | number | 120 20 to 999 | Sets the piano roll's grid and the instrument's song position. |
