Cook
Everything on a timeline. Videos, clips, curves and keys, cut and mixed in the Cook window.
A CookVideo is a timeline and a picture at once: each frame, its clips, from camera shots and titles to sounds and other videos, are stacked into its picture. Curve tracks and QFrames animate any property, and a CookProject holds curves on their own. The family also holds the shared bases its clips and contents build on.
ContentBring your files in. Pictures, meshes and fonts are saved inside the project, and pointing one at a file on disk makes that file win.BaseImageContentEvery picture shares these tools. Wipe it, paint one picture over another, resize it cleanly, or wire a colour straight into it.CookVideoMake a whole video in one object. Film your scenes, stack text, shapes and code over them, add sound, then play it, render it or drop it inside another video.CookLayerEvery picture clip in a video, from a title to a camera shot to a whole other video, moves, fades, tints and blends the same way.VideoTrackBring in your footage and cut it like an editor: trim it, split it at the playhead, slip it inside the clip and change its speed.CookVideoTrackBuild a sequence once and use it anywhere. Drop one video into another and it plays as a layer, with its own scripts, timing and speed.NestedSequenceTreat a stack of layers as one. Move, fade, blend or mask them together, while every clip stays exactly where your scripts look for it.ScriptTrackPaint a layer with Luau. Return one function of time and draw whatever you like into it, from a scene through its camera to pictures made by nodes.ImageTrackFilm any camera without a line of code. Point a picture layer at a camera, a scene or an image, and cut between shots with the razor.TextTrackPut words on screen in any installed font, with an outline, a plate behind them, and a fade or typewriter to bring them in.ShapeTrackAdd clean boxes, rounded panels and circles behind your titles, filled and outlined, and sharp at any scale.CodeScreenShow code being typed, line by line, in the Script window's own colours. Key Progress from 0 to 1 and the code writes itself.AdjustmentTrackChange everything below it in one go. Warm it, cool it, go black and white or add a vignette, then mask, fade or trim the change like any layer.CaptionTrackTurn your voice-over into word-timed captions: two clean lines, a karaoke highlight that follows the speaker, or a rounded pill.MeshContentBring in your models. Drop an OBJ, glTF or FBX file on a scene and it stands where it lands, ready to texture, light and render.SimulationCacheBake falling parts and cloth once, then scrub and play back the exact same motion every time.Base2DLay 2D over your 3D. Place pictures, text and panels in pixels, then scale, tint, blend and animate them in and out without setting a single key.CookClipAnything that lives on a video's timeline for a while. Pictures, sounds, rig clips, notes and camera shakes all start and stop the same way.CookSoundTrackLay sound under your picture. Trim it, fade it in and out with a drag, or bend its speed along a curve like tape.AnimationTrackPlay a walk, a wave or an idle on any rig, loop it, and blend one clip into the next, right on the video's timeline.CookNoteTrackWrite music right on the timeline. Draw notes in a piano roll or drop in a MIDI file, and a VST3 instrument plays them in time with your picture.CameraShakeTrackGive any camera a handheld wobble, a walking bob, a hit or an earthquake, and get the same shake at the same moment every time you scrub.SequenceItemOne entry of a nested sequence: it says which row of the video the sequence shows.ReviewNoteLeave a note on the exact frame, or pin it to a spot in the picture, and tick it off once it's fixed.CookProjectA timeline of curves. Key a few points, shape the motion between them, and read the value at any moment from a script or wire it into a property.TrackFolderKeep a busy timeline tidy. Fold rows into named, coloured groups, and switch a whole group off with one click.SoundFolderMix a whole group of sounds as one. Put your drums, dialogue or sound effects in a folder and send them all through the same chain.InstanceLayerAnimate anything from the timeline. Give a part, a joint or a mask its own row in the Cook window and key its properties right there.CookTrackShape a value over time. Draw a curve or pick a wiggle, a bounce or a zoom, then wire it into any property or read it from a script.CookEquationTrackWrite motion as maths. Type an equation of time and other tracks, and get a track you can wire or read like any curve.CookKeyframeOne point on a curve. Drag it in time and value, and pull its handles to ease in and out.LayerMaskCut a layer to any shape. Draw a rectangle, an ellipse or your own path, soften its edge, and combine masks to show just what you want.QFrameKey any property of anything. Each key is a small block on the timeline, and the value moves from one to the next the way you pick: straight, eased or held.
